BROWER HATCHER

Karl has been working as an artist and designer since graduating with a degree in 3d Design (Theater) from the Wimbledon School of Art in London in 1986. As a designer, his credits include over 40 theatrical productions, 4 films and numerous smaller commissions. This has involved sets and costumes, couture, exhibitions, graphic design, murals, lighting, installations, art direction and production design.

He has taught design since 1991: In Iceland, where he headed a department of Industrial Design at the Reykjavik Technical College, and since 1996 at the University of Rhode Island, with the occasional stint at the Rhode Island School of Design.

Karl is the author of the textbook The Design Process (Fairchild Books, New York, 2006)
